Our Story
RAIS Initiatives Uganda Limited was founded with a singular purpose: to bridge the gap in access to ethical, interest-free financial services for the people of Uganda. In a country where millions of hardworking entrepreneurs, farmers, and community members are underserved by traditional banking institutions, RAIS emerged as a beacon of hope and practical support.
From our earliest days operating out of Kampala, we recognized that financial exclusion was not just an economic problem — it was a barrier to dignity, opportunity, and community growth. Many small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs had the talent and determination to succeed but lacked the capital to get started. Traditional lenders charged prohibitive interest rates that trapped borrowers in cycles of debt rather than lifting them toward prosperity.
Since our establishment, RAIS has grown from a small initiative into a trusted platform serving communities across Uganda. By combining ethical financing principles with modern technology, we have disbursed over a hundred interest-free loans, launched a digital platform and Android application, and built a network of empowered individuals who are transforming their local economies from the ground up.

Founded
RAIS Initiatives Uganda Limited was officially established in Kampala with a vision to provide accessible, interest-free financial support to underserved communities across Uganda.
First Loans Disbursed
Disbursed the first round of interest-free loans to small and medium enterprises, marking the beginning of our commitment to ethical financing and economic empowerment.
Rapid Growth
Expanded operations to serve over 10 communities across Uganda, establishing partnerships with local leaders and organizations to extend our reach and impact.
Technology Launch
Launched our digital platform and Android mobile application, making it easier for clients to apply for financing, track their accounts, and manage repayments from anywhere.
Scaling Impact
Reached the milestone of supporting over 500 businesses and 25 communities, with over 1,000 loans facilitated — solidifying our position as a trusted force for financial inclusion in Uganda.
New Horizons
Expanding our loan packages with MicroBoost, KattiBoost, and JumboBoost tiers, strengthening partnerships with development organizations, and working toward reaching 1,000 businesses across Uganda.

Donald is a visionary leader focused on ethical finance, community empowerment, and inclusive economic growth. He leads RAIS with a mission to expand dignified financial access and create meaningful opportunities for underserved communities.
Kaddu Livingstone
Senior Software/AI Engineer
Kaddu leads the software and AI engineering strategy behind the RAIS platform. He focuses on building secure, scalable, and intelligent digital systems that improve access to financial services and support long-term operational growth.
Kintu Moses
Senior Software Developer
Moses is a skilled software developer responsible for building and improving the RAIS digital platform. He contributes to backend systems, user experience, and reliable technology infrastructure that supports clients and internal teams.
Barbra Kakose
Credit Officer
Barbra supports RAIS clients through responsible credit assessment, loan guidance, and financial follow-up. She helps ensure that borrowers receive fair, transparent, and well-managed financial support throughout the lending process.
